Want to integrate mindfulness into your school? We offer a four-step process for school teams, IB groups, boards and partnerships. Together we work on the introduction of this proven method, aimed at more peace, focus and well-being within education.

Step 1: Information about the content and effects of Mindfulness training in the classroom

Through an on-site introductory meeting, you and/or your team will get all the information they need to integrate mindfulness into your school.

Step 2: 8-week Mindful Teaching training.

Eline developed this specialized Mindfulness training especially for teachers.

The training can be taken as an individual or as a team (online, at your own location or at our training location the Heuvelkamp) The cost depends on the number of participants, the location and the Offline or Online training. For more info contact us via this link.

Contents of the training:
During the weekly meeting of 2.5 hours you get in touch with
- Your own center of peace and calmness. Create your peace and tranquility in the classroom
- Your natural ability to be consciously present and yourself in the classroom
- Watching and listening to yourself and the children without (having to) judge
- Discovering the 'pause button' and the worry factory. How to deal with it
- The art of stopping and noticing that you are breathing. The breath brings you into this moment, making you less hung up on 'what still needs to be done' or 'what should have been done'
- The discovery that you cannot prevent stress and work pressure, but you can influence how you deal with it
- Choosing what it takes for you to be fit, motivated and fully present in the classroom and the school
- Making better use of your qualities and allowing those of your students to flourish
- Self-care and self-compassion: the courage to be vulnerable and strong at the same time. And to convey this to the children as well

Mindful teaching teaches you to take better care of yourself and your students in the multitude of tasks at hand. Being consciously present to what you do, think and experience is the key word. Attention is the tool.

Materials.
A comprehensive workbook accompanies the training. With four practice meditations and guided yoga exercises on usb stick or supplied audio, you can practice at home for 20-40 minutes a day.

Step 3: Training as a Mindfulness Child Trainer and/or Youth Trainer

During the mindfulness child trainer or mindfulness youth trainer course, you will learn to apply the Eline Snel Method in your own classroom or other classes within the school.

Step 4: Broaden to 'Mindful School'

When attention training according to the Method Eline Snel is provided to all students at school throughout the year, the school is eligible to receive the designation "Mindful School.

A mindful school is characterized by:

  1. Mindfulness for students and teachers: Attention training (mindfulness) is integrated into the school vision of learning, well-being and the development of autonomy and life values.
  2. Permanent part of the curriculum: Mindfulness is a structural part of the curriculum.
  3. Trained team: Team members who wish to do so have participated in the 8-week mindfulness training. This enables them to work with a kind, mindful and non-judgmental attitude in the classroom and school.
  4. Certified teachers: Only teachers who have completed training at the Academy for Mindful Teaching (AMT) are allowed to teach attention training to children.
  5. Time and space for mindfulness: Teachers are given the necessary time and formation to offer the lessons school-wide.
  6. Daily mindfulness exercises: Competent teachers first teach the eight to 10 main lessons (depending on age group). Then they provide five minutes of attention, compassion and emotion regulation exercises daily throughout the school year.
  7. Frog Hallmark: A "Mindful School" receives a beautifully executed frog hallmark for display on the outside wall in recognition.
